jumping fish

Just curious to know how many of you have open top aquariums and if you do have you any problems with fish jumping out. I just upgraded my lights (aquaspace) and now have a open top. I do not wish to put eggcrate over tank because it blocks too much light. Any ideas/opinions.
Thanks

I had a glass top before I got my metal halides. I had a yellow watchman actually jump out of a 2 inch hole where my skimmer hung.
I installed egg crate for my new lighting and I get PLENTY of light, no shadows that I notice, the whole tank shimmers and has glitter lines.....very nice.

Thanks for the reply, I used eggcrate before but had 2 gobies jump through and land on top and bake under the MH. I think I am going to try and make a fiberglass screen that surrounds the tank but does not go over the tank. Got some thinking to do.
Thanks

Many fish will jump. As for eggcrate, it does not block out much light at all. It blocks out a lot less than glass.
