hey folks just wanted to share a picture i took tonight with you all. Im a big astronomy dork and so i tried using my canon rebel to take a picture of Jupiter, i got its moons! but you cant make out any features of the planet, it still shows you the cool moons, and i gave you the names of each for reference

nothin, just my 300mm lense

Are you serious? I thought you had to have a scope to see something like that. That is amazing!

nah its easy to see, you can see it with binoculars, go give it a try big bright star in the southern sky

awesome pics, i tried taking pics of the lunar eclipse but they were terrible..great pics

well yea i just gave it a shot to see what i could get, and it worked. but i was using a rebel xt 8 mp camera, 300 mm lens, and i put it on full zoom, and took a few shots with the exposure iso at around 3-5 ish.
i uploaded the pics and was able to crop the picture way down to just jupiter and then sharpened the contrast to get the picture
