I have a 29g tank and was wondering what i could keep in it with this lighting system.
65 watt 10,000K and 65 watt True Actinic 03 Blue straight pin base compact fluorescent lamps
would I be able to keep any anemone.
Is an orbit system better.
Thanks

Is this light PC?
I would think that is plenty of light in a 29 for keeping an anemone.

Actually, with your reply I re-read your posting. That lighting only puts you at about 4 watts/gallon. Now I'm thinking that might not be enough.
Hopefully someone who has an anemone will respond and give you a definite answer.

I had 30 Watts on my 55 gallon tank and had my anemone stay alive but for how long I don't know. I upgraded to 220 Watts on a 55 Gallon. Thats 4 watts per gallon. My anemone started to turn brown. I thought I was killing it until I read the message boards. Brown is good. I put two 15 watt strips to make up the 30 Watts of power. This equals 5 watts per gallon.
The things that are going to matter is how high your tank is from lights to anemone. This why the watts per gallon rule can be misleading. I would try the anemone with 4 watts per gallon if it starts turning brown you got enough light. I went with an off brand light called Jebo from ----. The lights are not the true color of a coralife but the anemone still does not know the difference.
After saying all that I think anemones are hardy and will let you know if they are happy by turning brown. If the anemone is brown and turns pale white then you will need more light to keep it happy.
Sorry for not answering your question directly but it hard to tell because there are no clear cut rules just opinions.

it's probably enough light for a bubble tip, or another one that's not quite as demanding. i've heard that you really need alot of light for the carpet anemones though. you may want to post this question in the clownfish and anemones forum. you'd probably get a better response.

The difference would be that the Jebo isn't at the wavelength of a Coralife and thus wouldn't penetrate as deep into the water.
