Just adding an 18 gallon tank to my system

Ok, this is probably really simple, but I just dont see it. Well, I just added an 18 gallon tank under my 50 gallon DT, and right next to my 10 gallon tank. I just dont know how to connect my 18 gallon high tank to my 10 gallon tank? Thats my only problem. Do I use a smaller overflow going from my 18 gallon tank to my 10 gallon refugium. The picture is really simplistic.
This is the link to the 10 gallon refugium that I made a while back:

does anyone have an idea of what I should make the 18 gallon tank into? Im thinking of a refugium.

How do you drill a hole? Do you think I could get a local fish store to do it for me? It is a glass aquarium.

DIY with a dremal tool , just grind thru and keep widening it to the right size or maybe a glass/mirror shop will do it for a fee. Make some calls. Need the bulkhead so you know how big to make the hole. I would use one next size bigger than the main tank drain.

could I just add, a second overflow? Because I dont want to crack the tank, which with my luck, that is a garantee.
