Just got some more live rock and BOY it was amazing found 2 mini feather dusters and about 8 zoos that hitched a ride to my tank the zoos have opened fully and the feather dusters (at least that is what they look and act like) are extending and contracting their feathers or hairs. my question is this how can you tell before they die if your zoos are getting the nutrition they need and how fast (on avg) do they grow or spread???

In my experience if the zoos are opening up that is a good sign. Depending on the type of zoo you have a good indicator of how well they are doing is the color and how the outside edge looks. For example, with the one type of zoo I have it has more vibrant red/green colors when it is happy. Also, the outside edge will be more round and less oval shaped and the spike looking things will be in a uniform shape. One time I had fouled up a water change and I could tell right away they werent happy. They are pretty hardy though and so they pulled through just fine.
