They aren't really comparable...there's two different circumstances which would require each...it really depends. I won't vote.

since this post is shorter... halides are better overall yes, but some people are so fixed in their ways that they dont want to listen to people's successes with T5. "well i have T5 and my coral is growing" "so what they'll do better with halides, because they're better". it all depends on their application. id put t5 on a shallower tank (under 20") would i put them on a 24-30" deep tank, no.
