Congrats! I paid twice as much for mine. Hope you have better luck with yours, I've had mine for 6 months the last four of which it's been used as a doorstop, a total POS if you ask me.

Interesting, have you bothered to use the warranty on it? Many people are using mag pumps on here without problem. What was your problem? You do need to soak the impeller shaft in vinegar for about 8 hours every six weeks, which would mean you would need a back up shaft unless you can handle not having that pump run for that time.

Yes, and many also have problems. I bought mine because so many seemed to use them on this db. The 24 seems to be particularly cantancerous.

Loud as hell, runs hot, doesn't restart once you stop it, (each and every time) requiring disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly, sometimes several times b4 it will restart. I suspect it has something to do with the way the nylon bushing sits sloppily in the inside retainer. Not sure if that is by design or not.

Never got it to run six weeks so I could clean it. I did however buy an extra shaft at time of purchase, and would soak the spare shaft overnight in vinegar everytime I took it apart and changed it out, which as I said was everytime I stopped it. Last time it ran was before the power went out when we had an earthquake. Couldn't get it to restart after that despite intensive cleaning efforts. Have since replaced it with a sequence dart... wonderful quiet troublefree pump.
Not trying to rain on your parade, but I'd try to get my money back if I were you before you submerge it, if it's not too late already.
If it is too late like I said I hope you have better luck with yours then I did with mine, but my experience is consistent with that of many others... just check around this db. I wish I had checked more thoroughly before I got mine.

No raining. I am using it as my sump return, I have a sequence reeflo hammerhead on my CL system. I am using it already without problems. It is quieter than the hammerhead which is pretty darn quiet. But I can't check for problems yet. I did unplug it a couple times and it restarted just fine, but then again, I can't say I have had for more than a few hours...haha...leaving for a week...will check on it when I return. Thanks for the heads up though.
