Just got a 12g nanocube

The gf just got me a 12g and I was wondering what modifications (if any) I would need for sw.
It comes with 2x24watt cf lighting which should be good for softies right?
I want to a a false percula, midas blenny, and maybe a shrimp. Do you think I could keep 2 perculas if I ditched the blenny?
Anyway I'm very excited and would like some advice.

I had a few questions about the nanocube.
Should I use the ceramic rings, bioballs, and carbon or would 15# of LR be enough for filtration?
SHould I use the surface skimmer? It is a plastic peice that fits over the overflow to create an overflow box. This would keep the talk level constant, but I am worryed about the "sump" in the back. I want to put my heater back there and am worryed that the water would evaporate to quickly, especially beause there are two fans running.
Any help would be apprecieated

I know people here (me included) love pics, but it is just an empty tank with no water in it. Not very exciting.
I was hoping to get the fitration worked out before I started my cycle. So if anyone could comment on the ceramic rings/bioballs it would be appreciated.

In my 24G Nanocube i took all that stuff out of the back and replaced it with FilterFloss, Chemi-pure elite,Cheato and Purigen. Read my blog or Pm me for more info if needed. Hope it helps

I also suggest ditching the bio balls and ceramic etc... those are nitrate factories waiting to start work
I have a 24g nano.
Chamber 1:
Sponge - Chemi Pure
Chamber 2: Mini-Refugium of Chaeto
CHamber 3: heater + return pump
(Hint: if u don't want to go all out and create a mini fuge w/ light and all u can get a protein skimmer and stick it in there.....)

Should I add the cheato after the cycle is done or right away?
I'm cycling with shrimp. Should I leave the tails on? How much for a 12 gal cube?

First off, it has to be raw shrimp, shell on is what you want. One shrimp is perfect. I recommend putting it in either a media bag or a pantyhose will work as well. This way the decomposing shrimp will not be all over your tank when it is time to take it out. As for the chaeto, I don't see any reason why you couldn't have it in during the cycle.

So I went this weekend to the LFS to get rock and other stuff I need. I got 14lbs of rock, but I think it takes up too much space. Should I break it up? I need aquascaping ideas.
