Hey guys ! I just purchased a beautiful Blue Hippo for my 175. I wanted to know what are the best kind of foods for her. Her tank mates are two perculas and a citron goby. All I am feeding now is brine shrimp with garlic. Whatelse do I need to keep her happy-? Thanks !

id go with something other than brine shrimp. Unless its brine shrimp plus.
brine shrimp is for FW? and has no nutritional value?
You can always go with Mysis shrimp... its sorta like the SW variety of brineshrimp

I feed my 7" hippo, frozen Formula one, two, and reef. I also feed her flake as well as Green and Purple seaweed.
For a treat, I feed her frozen krill and silversides.

Correction upon my own stupidity: I feed my hippo mysis; not brine

Please take this as well-intended advice. How can you bring home a fish without even knowing what it eats? Homework prior to purchase will prevent many failures. What if this was a moorish idol and you got it home just to find that it eats almost nothing but sponge? Just click "Fish" on the left of this page, scroll down to tangs, click hippo, and you'll see they need a lot of greens. A tang cannot grow properly without this essential part of his diet; they may eat a lot, but won't last. Also, as I guess I'm being more critical than normal; any flake food is a very poor choice for all but the smallest SW fish, too much waste. I just said the same thing on another post; but I do more homework before buying an unfamiliar fish than I do when buying a new car.

Well, thanks for the advise. I had one before, and all she ate was brine and mysis shrimp, krill, blood worms and spectrum. I never fed her any greens before. So I am just looking for answers.

You should definitely mix some greens into the diet. Otherwise your hippo will likely end up with HLLE.

You can also go to the grocery store and buy nori. This is used in oriental food, susi. Make sure it is unseasoned. A lot of hobbist on here use it so I'm guessing it's cheaper. I am switching to it as soon as my seaweed from LFS is out. Rub it with garlic or put a few drops of vit. then you can either clip it on side of tank with the clips or get a small rock from your tank and rubber band it on, then set it down in different spots. I like to do this best so it's more like grazing.
