i got 3 pics, hopefully one of them is decent enough someone can get a positive id on. I would like to know what the purple/red crusty stuff is. Is it corraline? or something else?

think it might effect the way the zoos grow and spread?

its probably a type of sponge, looks like its going to keep growing over the zos, so i would take it off..

I would not take that off. The zoos will be fine and will spread elsewhere. IMHO, variety such as that is very nice to have.
Is it hard or spongy?

I'll bet it's slimy to the touch. Looks like a sponge of some sort. And in competition for space with the zoos. They will be okay, as someone else stated, the zoos will soon spread and spread... the sponge/tunicate? will help them to do so.

it is soft to the touch. Feels spongy. When i touched it, it moved a little and the zoos that are near it moved along with it. If it helps the zoos spread......:)
As long as it isnt going to harm anything I will be happy.

my avatar would be that I am an ohio suck... i mean ohio state fan. you must be from meatchicken...i mean that state up north. During football season We dont give a d_ m_ for the whole state of michigan. To many ruined seasons on this end courtesy of that team up north. Gonna be a good one this year. of course, thats what i said last year too.
