ive always siphoned with my thumb in my mouth. as soon as it gets close...i jam my thumb over the hole, and pull it out. then I release and let it flow.
or keep your thumb over the hole and let a little air pass...this way when the water hits...it wont come gushing into your mouth. just a little tiny spurt.
