Hello, does anyone know if i can mix live sand with play sand? also, i have a few nice large pieces of coral that i found at the beach can i add that to a tank or do i need to do something to it first? thanks

yes you can. but your should do some test to it first. your supposed to put vinigar or something on it to see if it sizzles and if it does its good..somthing like that im not 100% sure. then you put the live sand over it.
the corals need special lighting to be kept. and you need a mature tank. you arent ready to add anything but sand and live rock.IF your setting up your tank.

If your talking about old coral rock that washed up on a beach somewhere, then its probably not live and you could throw it in your tank....but.....its just going to turn green with algea, its very hard/impossible to clean, so after a few months it will become an eyesore---choice is by all means yours so if you want to do it!
