-- does have a wealth of info, especially their magazine section. It is also nice to be able to discuss one on one with their vendors. It's a big place, though, and not terribly cozy as a community. There are a lot of big guns there, who sometimes forget what it was like way back when they were just starting out.
My view is that hobbyist are so lucky nowadays to have various forums and sites available. Back when I got started all I had was Aquarium mag that came out once a mo. lol Forums, I think, advanced this hobby considerably, in a very good way. Its a great way for fish tank crazed folks to feel at ease.

-- isnt uptight, i think people just dont bother to search anything and ask the same question that has just popped up 10 times earlier in the same day in the same category. ive been to that site and still go there and theyve helped me a lot. its great to have a chemistry section and clam section and just about any section that covers anything and everyhthing you would want to know about
theres so much info on there that i could sit there all day and still not go through the whole site. having people give you links to things you need without being edited and deleted is great.
some people are stuck up but i think people take things more seriously with whats going on with the animals and just want to make sure the animals are in good health. i know sometimes you wont get a response because as soon as you post a thread its already at the bottom of the page, but it doesnt mean no one cares, just too many people which is good..
