Just out of curiosity...

I was wondering how many times a day everyone feeds their fish.. I was just reading an old post someone had started where the subject had turned to feeding, and a lot of people thought twice a day was too much. I feed my fish at least morning & night, and if I'm home I try to feed SMALL meals throughout the day; I thought smaller, more frequent meals were better for the fish.....
I understand overfeeding is bad for the bioload so I'm talking only what my fish & inverts can consume in a minute or two, a few times a day. I've never had a problem with my H2O parameters ..I'm just curious I guess, and would like the input of my more expeirenced buddies on here.

I was feeding 1/day and then had some cyano show up after 5 months of being set up (never had any bad water readings though). But anyway, I then changed to once every other day (QOD) and increased water flow - now no cyano. I've been feeding QOD now for about 3 months now... The fish seem to be quite happy with this schedule. Although I do have quite a bit of LR for them to munch on in the meantime (130 lbs in my 55).

really depends on the fish. My reef I had set up was once a month feeding with mainly grazers. other fish need feed daily or multiple times a day.
what kind of fish are we talking about?

I feed once a day - what they can eat within 2 minutes. I go out of town a lot two so during the weekends they usually don't get fed.

Once a day, sometimes once every other day. I have a pretty light bioload though, only 3 green chromis and a LMB
