Just picked up a new Leather!!! How does it look?

Hello everyone, love this site and this hobby. Anywho, I just picked up a leather at a local pet store for a GREAT price, I just want your opinion on how it looks. I remember reading that one should look for 'polyp extension' and this guy had that. Granted it wasnt very high, they were there. He's been in my tank now for 3 days and I think he's happy. What do you think?



There were a couple white spots on the edges when I purchase it. They are not spreading, which I think is a good thing? Anyone tell me exactly what kind it is? And what I should do to ensure it stays happy and healthy. Thanks in advance!

looks great, i believe its a toadstool leather, the polyp extention looks to be good ,there are some types that dont have a very long extention, the white should go away after a bit but over all looks great

Stays healthy and happy? That is NOT a happy toadstool and must have seen some really harsh conditions. I have no doubt that he will pull through.... but he needs to look better than that before you say he's healthy.
A healthy toadstool.

I have seen a lot worse. Good flow is key because it will shed early and often as it acclimates to your tank.

I agree but for the past few months I have seen nothing but "Toadstool Help" threads. There are some terrible looking leathers in those threads. This is the first one that looks some what good.

Wow, thanks for all the replies guys!!
I don't believe it to be a toadstool, I did some research and the pictures I did find resembled more of a lobed leather like 'Jaymz' said. It doesnt have a huge stalk like most toadstools I see. Rather, it sits low to the rock. However I am a newb still so what do I know?
Its pretty close to my Koralia, but not enough to blow it around like crazy. Thanks again!
