Just some peace and quiet! South Umpqua!

Wanted to share our vacation to the South Umpqua River in Southwestern Oregon. We go every year for a week and it always amazes me. Pristine, no angling, no improved campgrounds. If you EVER have the chance...

By the way, all of these photos were taken within 5 miles of our camp, most of the spots we walked to (NOT hiked) though there are some excellent hike-in spots.
Water is entirely swimmable, just decided to spare you good folks.

Thet are German Shorthaired Pointers. Solid color is just not what you commonly see in this breed. Thank you, they unfortunately are spoiled, as we don't hunt, neither do they (just tennis balls).
South Umpqua Falls is a National Park and can be googled. There are traditionally two PowWows that are held at the Falls each July/August, and while I'd love to attend one (1/8 Choctaw), we go mid-week and about 10 miles up river to avoid crowds. Very tranquil.

In late August, when the salmon run, this river will make you crazy! Huge fish everywhere and no fishing allowed.
