Also one more quick question for now lol
When you feed the tank, is it uncommon for the water to get a little bit cloudy afterwards?

depends on what you are feeding and if you are pre-rinising it or not...
frozen cubed food should be pre-rinsed before you put it in the tank,, that can cause a huge clouding issue and a huge nitrate/phosphate issue with it
if its flake or something else then it shouldnt unless its breaking up when it hits the water??

Yeah! Despite wanting to wait, my water levels seemed ok so i picked up a clownfish yesterday morning

I feed him some frozen PE Mysid and the tank clouded up! I mean i defrosted it in some tank water, but nothing more.
How should i properly wash it? Like just get a good initial rinse on it before i actually defrost it?
Thanks!

Take a fish net...put the cube in the net and run tap water over it until it defrosts...then pour RO water over the thawed food as the last rinse...THEN feed it to the fish.
Thawing the food in tank water and then pouring that into the tank is pollution, you didn't do anything but make sure it hit the tank all at once instead of as it melted.

Yeah what i was doing was taking the cube, defrosting it then using a fork to pick out some shrimp to put in the tank!
Today i will try the fish net method and see how it goes :)

Yeah, i was thawing it in a cup and then putting the food in the tank, but today i used the net and it was a lot cleaner than yesterday!

LOL...I use cold tap water for fear of cooking the tiny shrimp (my water get really hot). Also I rinse with RO as my last rinse...I live in fear of hair algae.

Funny thing is i was thinking that to myself as i washed it off today lol
Thanks everyone!
Hopefully I can get some pics up soon!

So I was sitting around tonight thinking about ordering some livestock from SWF.com!
Does anyone have any reviews or experiences ordering live stock online?

The customer service is AWESOME and so is the quality of their livestock. They stand behind their livestock with the 14 day guarantee.
The 15 Day guarantee is a huge bonus! I guess i was just wondering because i currently do not have a QT tank and would need to put them right into the display tank!
So you never had problems at all? That pretty good!

WOE!!! I understand if you don't have a QT...I didn't this last time...It is a HUGE
risk.
If you were to order a critter, no matter if it is SWF.com...it can be a sick critter. Also guess what, 14 days may sound like lots of time, but a fish can live with ich if it isn't too bad of a break out, you could contaminate your entire DT. SWF.com will only replace the one little fishy....not the entire population in your tank.
So be smart .... know the risks...feet in reality and on the floor. Do you feel lucky? Well do ya?

I never said you would not need to quarantine them. It is best to quarantine like Flower said.
