I've had enough of the darn 3 stripe damsel and clarkii clown!!! They are two big bullies!!! Not only does the 3 stripe pick at my xenia, but yesterday I brought home a BEAUTIFUL coral beauty, and both of them were picking on him!!! So bad I'm not sure if he's gonna make it. So I tore apart all the rocks and after an hour caught the two!! The added stress probably didn't help the CB, but at least he's not getting picked on. I'm going to add some fresh saltwater and leave the tank alone for a while to let him relax. Hopefully all goes well! I was getting tired of my rock scape anyway!! When all is normal I gotta get a pic of this CB! The name is soo fitting!

I really wish fish stores would explain how mean damsels are to folks before they buy them. Any new fish has to be accepted by the critters you already have...believe it or not, the CB will be the bully should you add any other more timid fish than it.
Also keep a watch on the CB, SOMETIMES they nip coral. You don't know if you have a nipper until you introduce it to the thank and find out that way.
Hope he makes it...

Couldn't get the net behind the rocks.... didn't want the coral to be in the "open". I tried a bunch of times to catch these guys before.... today was the last straw!! The CB doesn't look so good.......still breathing but very fast and not really swimming

You got the CB for $30.00??? I paid a $119.00 for a flame angel that lasted one day. My favorite fish in the reef tank is the lemonpeel Angelfish. My favotite fish are the seahorses in another tank, they don't bother anyone...if G-d forbid....If I lost all of my fish, I would turn the 90g into a big SH tank.
Sorry you lost your new fish...try the LFS and see if they will take the bullies from you.

Was that a good price? I thought it was fair...... Flames by me go for about $60......I'm afraid to spend that much....... My LFS took my 2 coral cats that grew too huge..... so hopefully they take these guys..... maybe this time I'll ask for a deal!

Brought the evil things to my LFS.... He said he's had similar problems in his tanks at the store with clarkii's and damsels. He's getting me another CB and giving me a "good deal" on it! We'll see!

I don't know how established your tank is...but dwarf angels are ticky about needing stable environments. If your water goes bad they will be the first casualties. I hope it all works out for you.

The Coral Beauty should be fine....Not as delicate as what your portraying them Flower.....Flames are a bit different though IMO.

Early on in my fishkeeping, I got a domino damsel. It started out playful, and about the size of a quarter. He grew fast, and got really mean. By the time I took care of the problem, he was about 5 inches long, and the most evil fish I've seen. It was an eye opener to how much research needs to be done before buying a fish, and how much you can trust the word of some retailers. There's so much info on the net these days, and especially on these forums. It can't hurt to do a quick check before purchasing a fish, and getting some outside info.
