Just waiting....

Well its been about a week so far in my new tank setup. Got a great deal on a solid oak stand, tank, and oak hood for $400. I had to replace the galss tops on the tank but they are cheap so no complaints there. So far its going well, I test it ever few days to see how the water looks and everything is perfict. Currently there is about 40lbs of live sand, and 40-50lbs of fully cured live rock in the tank. The live rock is doing very well, many patches purple all over, wth a few intresting things I just noticed on a few rocks. I have some small red and orange, and what looks like a mushroom coral growing one some of them. Havn't had them identified yet, but will hopefully post some pictres latter today to see if someone could help me figure out what they might be. Also all the hitchhikers that where living in the other tank where the live rock came from seem to be doing quite well for them selvs.
So my waiting contunues, I want to move my fish to the new tank so baddly but I know I have to wait. Still waiting for the ammona to go up and let me know its cycling, but so far nothing. Ghost feed trying to get it to go up, but nothing so far. I also have been putting in a few cups of water from teh established tank into the new tank every few days to help it along. The fish are still ok where they are for the time being. Don't want to risk my emp angle, false eye puffer, and all the other fish I enjoy to die if I rush moving them into the new tank. I know my blenny can't want to get into the new one and start digging. Man dose he ever like to dig! Its a trip watching him dig tunnels and trenches under things. Its like hes a WW2 vet, had to have his trenches on the battle field.
The reason I am posting is just to say hello, being this is my first post, and to ask a few questiosn and get some opintions. The first is moving the fish to the tank, any one have any sugestions on moving them? I guess I could catch them...eventualy, and put them into zip locks and then treat them like new fish. Which is proboly the way its going to happen. But I would like to hear from people who have done something simmilar and find out what they did and what woked best. I want to put the fish threw the least amount of stress as possible. Some of them are insanly fast ike my damsels, which im sure will take a while to catch if im lucky. I have seem some people on here use fish traps, I might try that. I'll have to see if I can make one from a bottle, and get it to work. One of the issues that I do need some info on it my emp angel. I noticed what look elike some injuries on the top of his head. They don;t look bad, but the only fish in there that coudl of done that to him would be the puffer. But if I watch them they get along great, the eat together sharing a algi-strip and they don't fight over shrimp of anything elise I put in the thank. What is very weard for me to see them on him. The only other thing I can think of is he did them to him self. He religisly chases the blue damsel around when he fells the need. He never catches him, being ies a little speed demon. My guess is he an into some rocks and got scraped up from it. If there anything I can do for him to help his healing?
I think this post is long enough, if you are still reading it! So with that I say hello to you all, and hope to hear from you.

The way you are gonna do it is probley the best way. But when i converted from my 45 to the 75. I used the water from the 45 and than new water to finish the tank off. How ever i did leave a little water in the tank for them to swim in. Than i put the rock in cought the fish an just put them in the tank as i cought them. But i did not have any expensive fish so i didnt care if they made it or not. I figured if i put them all in at one time so they wouldnt fight over whos gonna live where beeing it was a new tank to them anyway. Than i just sat back and watched ***) . I had no problems nothing died on me and they are all happy fish now. :happyfish :jumping:

Its definatly going to be an all day when I move them. I was plaining on moving them all the :happyfish at once, along with the varius rocks(non-LR) and the current filtrations system on the tank. Just moving it dirty to keep all the good bacteria I have grown in it. Having another filter on there shouldn't hurt after all. Now I think about it, I think I will move the the exsiting filtrationa few hours before I mave the fish. I just hope I havn't missed the amona spike, and its sitting there all ready. But proboly not, so I will wait a bit longer, and see what happens.
