Hi and welcome to the boards. I'm still perty new to the hobby but I'll try to answere you questions the best I can. The first thing I would suggest you to do is to research and learn as much as you can about this hobby FIRST. Take a trip to the local libary.
The light you have now would be fine for a FoWler (fish only and Live rock) aquarium. But if you want to do a reef then you'll have to get some stronger lights. I would'nt suggest someone who is just starting out to do a reef since they are a more difficult and expensive then a Fowler. A power head is something you use to help circulate the water. HTH (hope this helps)

My bad my tank is not a 55 it's a 29 I looked it up last night. Thanxs for the info.
So maybe all I need is the lights I have now, live sand, fish, live rock, and a powerhead?
O and do I need to cure the pre-cured live rock that I want to get form saltwater.com

Sounds like a good list. Except you could just buy the cheaper araginite reef sand, and then seed it with a lb or two of LS. You would save money by doing this. Are you going to get a protein skimmer?
I wouldnt if you put it in there why you cycle your tank. It will help boost the cycle.

I will get a skimmer.
N*E*WAYZ I thought that if I put live rock in my tank then that would make it a reef. Whats the diffreance in a FOwLR and a reef tak.
