Ok so i got this juvi "Queen" angelfish, after doing more research im not so sure its a Queen angel.
To me its markings look more like a juvi Blue angel.
Im asking for opinions, and or refferences.
Thanks in advance.

the blue marking are brighter like that of the queen juvi. Its very hard to tell unfortunently, but i would say its a queen, its marking look more similiar to that juvi.

From what I have saw of a juvi queen, the lines on it's sides are squiggly sort of, more so than a juvi blue. With that color I bet it is a queen juvi too!
Nice fish either way, but if it is a blue, I would make the seller refund you the cost difference. I know where I live that the queens are alittle more than the blues and that is a understatement!

That is a tough call. There is another thread on here that a guy has a juvi queen and yours looks nothing like it. The smaller line in between the two bigger lines on its side look more blue angel than queen.
how big is your tank? is that you DT or qt? Fix that algae.

I read that juvi queens have those blue vertical lines more curved than the one in your picture. Here's a picture of my queen when she was tiny.

Thanks for the input guys.
I am going to post another pic of the angel that shows
the rear of the fish and its lack of blue fringes on the bottom.
I have to say i agree with you guys in that it is a blue.

But because it was sold to me by a reputable fish store,
I WANT to believe it is a Queen!!!

I am also including a link where i began questioning what
it really was.
Crypt...it is a QT. If i put a queen in a DT of 29 gallons,
that COULD pose a minor problem...no?....

Also, my DT and my QT are FO...so the algae is a non issue.
But thanks for the concern.

Aqua..what are the chances I can see a recent pick of your
sweet Queen?

No worries bud.
If you wanted, when you go back to that LFS, see if they can tell you where the angel you bought came from. That should help us, as Queens are mostly brought in from Brazil and a few other places.
There's always the shot that it could be a Townsend angel. A hybrid from a Queen and Blue angel parents. In the wild both angels territories are virtually the same, and there's a lot of mixed spawning. Depending on who you ask, they would say that Townsends are more numerous the either Queen's or Blues. I wouldn't call yours a Townsend yet, but I believe that to only be noticeable as she grows.

You never posted the size of your tank to begin with. People cant assume you have a fish in a certain gallon tank if none is posted.
No need to be a smartass. It wasnt that the algae is a problem. It looks like crap. I figured you would take more pride in your hard earned money.
You're welcome.

my tank looks like crap!

In any event.........
WOW Creations......shes PURDY!!!!

Thanks for sharing!

If i was to guess i would say one and a half years growth since
you took that pick when she was tiny. (please let me know)
Aqua, i dont need to go back to the LFS, I asked when i got
her...he said Brazil! But see i have a problem going back to
complain because this is the second fish i got from him.
The first one died, I am thinking of the same illness yours
died from. She ate once, got a bloated belly and perished
within six days. She would seem to suspend head down.
But she never floated to the top like yours. So this fish
was givin to me by way of credit.
I do have a pic of her too if anyone is interested.
I guess im just going to have to wait and see if she is a
townsend. If you guys want me to I can and will post a pick
in a couple of months to see if its more apparent what she is
exactly.
Truefish....its a 75 soon to be a 180.

The picture where she was tiny was taken on June 14, 2008. So she grew that much in just 7 months.
