Well This is the first time I am gonna be trying a nano tank, it's for my daughter Kailyn she is 5 years old and just loves saltwater fish. I have a 90 gallon tank set up and all she can ask is daddy can I get a fish tank of my own. Well being the spoiled little one that she is I got her one of her own. So here it is, I am gonna try and takes pictures the whole time it's up.
These pictures were taken on the first day of setup. I used water from my 90 and some new water. Used about 10lbs of live sand and to my suprise not any cloudiness..

Now I have let Kailyn pick out some live rock from my established 90 gallon tank to put in her Bio-Cube. Last picture is of a star fish there is about 6 of them on the glass already.

well today she is already asking me for coral to put in it. so i made a couple of green mushroom frags and red mushroom frag and I have a little xenia frag also but right now they are in my fuge of the 90 until I know they are fully attached to the rocks. Next couple of days I am gonna remove bio balls fron chamber 2 and replace with rubble rock and some cheato and a submersable led light for growth. And I am trying to find out if I can change the pump and put something a little stronger in for more flow before I go and get a koralia nano power head.

Well I finally got to adding some rubble rock to the 2nd chamber, but I didn't have enough to fill it so it sounded like a waterfall. So what I did is add about 6 bio balls to the top for now untill I get the LED and put the cheato in there.
Then my daughter was hounding me to get something for the tank so we went to the fish store and got 2 hermits, 2 snails, and a cleaner shrimp, all this for 10.00. The kid was new there and didn't know the prices, worked out to my advantage.

Just a question, your going to do away W/bio balls and substitute W/cheato!Don't mean to sound so dumb, but haven't had one of these before and haven't had a wet/dry filter.

Yeah I put live rock rubble in the second chamber in place of the bio balls and then i am gonna put the cheato on top of the rubble rock which helps quiet the waterfall sound. The only thing you have to do is add a light to the 2nd chamber, either submersible led or scratch some black paint off the back of the glass and put a light on the outside in the back.

Well today I decided to put some small coral frags in the tank for my daughter. I added 6 green zoos, about 7 orange zoos, 3 brown zoos on a snail shell, xenia frag, 2 green mushrooms, and 2 red mushrooms..

Well I ordered a Hydor Flo last night just waiting for it to arrive, could not pass up the price, it was cheaper with shipping then I can find in any local fish store. once this arives I will be adding a maxjet 1200 to the 3rd chamber as my main pump, hopefully this is not to much flow. Does any one have this setup in there 8 gallon bio-cube, or should I go and buy a 900 maxjet???? Corals are looking great and I am currently trying to get some of my yellow pollops to move over to a small piece of LR so I can add to Bio-Cube.

Well I got my replacement parts from oceantic today the new led and pump. I replaced them, wasn't to bad. What I also did was swap the atinic bulb with the daylight bulb this way the fans are always on when any of the lights are on.. Should keep tank a little cooler. I also noticed when I changed the led that the board they are plugged into has an extra open spot to plug in an extra led, HMMMM??? Maybe You could put an extra led over the 2nd chamber and use this for a fuge light. Has anyone done this before??Gonna see if I can get a white led for the fuge..

Well got the Hydor Flo today, didn't think it came until neighbor knocked on door and said mail man put it in the wrong mail box. Lucky I have nice neighbors, I live in an apartment with about 400 apartments and some people just would not have brought it. Well here are some pictures of it and after I installed it. Next is to upgrade the pump to a maxjet 900.
