Kalk Question

OK...I went to the store and was going to buy "pickling" stuff.....
They have
Bread and Butter
Dill
Kosher Dill
Pickling Salt
What is the stuff that is supposed to be the same as Kalkwasser

Hey thanks....I wonder what happens if it drips too fast

I have read bits and pieces about this too...still undecided though

I have the exact same stuff. I use it to make pickles. I had not considered putting it in my tank.
I don't know if posting this link is a violation of the TOS or not - it's from a non-commercial site, so I don't think so, but... If it is a violation, it was not intentional - please forgive me mods, and delete.

Meowser - out of curiousity, why are you wanting to do this?
 
I believe just like kalkwasser, pickling lime has a very high pH and should be dripped so as not to cause a pH spike. Depends on your system though. I know some people with a large tank who just dump it all at once into their sump but I'd rather err on the side of caution.

Meowser - out of curiousity, why are you wanting to do this?
LOl...I'm not convinced I do want to...I have read bits and pieces on this, and I thought it was beneficial for coral growth
