kalkwasser what is stuff on bottom

what is the stuff on the bottom when mixed up?
what will it do if added to the tank?
does it harm anything?
do any users out there use only kalkwasser to maitain ph, calcium and alkalinity?
i'm mixing at maximum dose and
alk 8
cal 420
ph 8.2
salinity 1.023

im not sure about this either.. i have been using calk but didnt know why i wasnt supposed to use the guk on the bottom. (i just thought that the company put that there so that you would use more calk and then have to buy more:D )

most likely you have saturated your kalk mix in the water you are dosing with. that is the excess percipitating out. it is not going to endanger your tank, but next time you mix a batch of kalk, use a little less mix to the water volume and you should not have it appearing in the future.
if you want to you can siphon it out, but it will not hurt your tank to just leave it in.

Undesolved calcium carbonate should not be added to your tank. period. It can be caustic, an harm your tank. If you are dealing with true lime water these sedimints should likewise not be used.

assuming he somehow collects it from the bottom of his make up water holding vessle.. unless he is mixing his kalk directly in his tank.... i made the assumption that he was mixing in a separate container per the directions on the container, but yes, definately, do not sprinkle your kalk directly into your tank!
