Kalkwasser????

Can anyone explain to me the proper way to use this stuff? I am doing what the instructions say but even the clear stuff in the middle doesn't seem to be all that clear. Is there a specific temperature or time frame or maybe even mixing procedure that will yield the best results. Also, I do apply it slowly to the tank but ever since I have started using it I seem to have some sort of film on the top of my water in the tank (this film is a bit different then the stuff that accumulates ontop of the kalkwasser mix).
Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks for the info', I guess that means nothing special, just read the directions. LOL
I was just worried I might have missed a trick to it.
