haha yeah I've been feeding it regularly.
The red gorg. is on its way out.. I havent been feeding it the micro foods that I use to. Remember you guys said I was going to pollute my tank with all the phyto I was putting into it to keep the gorg alive. I decided to stop with that and let it be.
I acctaully had to cut a branch off it yesturday, I noticed it had some sort of infection on it and it was starting to grow algae. But all the other branches seem to be fine. At the moment all the polyops are extended. I'll get a cell phone pic of it just so u can see.

dont use purple up to boost calcium. try b-ionic 2 part if u want to keep calcium stable. other than that, i dont think ur lps corals are gonna be eating up your calcium fast. so regular water changes with good salt should keep ur calcium stable

The ones that look like the "account inavtivated"? I dont think I've seen those yet haha.
I went to the LFS and the tank with them had a bunch of crab body parts all over and cyano infestation.. They also looked so sluggish (since every time I go I always watch them for 5 mins).. Went and asked one of the workers what was up.. he agreed with me, but then asked the "main" salt water caretaker.. and he said nothing was wrong and the claws were everywhere because they were fighting eachother ect. and I was like hmm, so what about them being sluggish and hes like what do you mean no there not and the other worker agreeed with me lmfao and he gave him the dirtiest look in the wrold lol.
I'm like dont try to lie to me.. im one of your best customers im always here so I dont know who your fooling, then I walked away lol.
This head "salt" guy is an idiot.. when I had a little cyano and asked him for advice he went stragitht o a $40 powder haha. Then I was like no thats short term treatments what else do u reccomend and hes like oh I know I use it as a quick treatment blah blah blah.
TERRIBLE!

Seems like everytime I post up a pic it does that :(
This should work

Don't you love it when you can clearly see through the people who are trying to make a buck off of you even if the merchandise is crap?

Yup[ thats the one I was going to get. But that tank looks like it was going to crash.. had a really bad cyano problem and had a lot of the crabs body parts all over the sand so I'm not going to get them anymore.

I rearranged my zoa rock, because I didnt like the flow(look wise) of the tank. I decided that the zoa rock was an eye soar since it was the biggest piece I had i nthe middle of the tank on the sand. I put it with al lthe other zoas on the LR mountain. Just cleanning my room I'll get a crappy cell phone pic to compare before and after and let me know what u guys think.

I just got my TSD meter and tested my R/O water and it gave me a reading of 003ppm is that good? My tap water gave me a reading of 169 ppm. So th system cleaned up my water pretty well, but is 003ppm a good reading for R/O?

Great topic, I read it all last night.. (ok I skipped some pages lol)
but got most of it. I started my first 8g a month ago so a lot of the questions I have, you already asked

The only question I have left is why does your 10g look so much bigger than my 8g? Like.. Twice as big!
I have only added 2 Kenya trees and I already feel like I am out of space for more corals and anemones and even fish! Maybe my rocks are too big?

Well the fact your missing 2gallons haha. How much LR id you add? I only have 8 lbs and I belive its how you space it out. Mine arent really stacked ontop of eachother like othe people do. I have 4 nice pieces, one is on the left on the sand, then on the right, then the top one to make a bridge then one to fill a gap.
Maybe you can move the LR around to better suit what you want to be done? My tanks 20" long I believe. does this still sound way larger then yours?

Actually I lied I have a question about sand sifters cause I have brown algae in mine. I got 2 scarlet hermits cause I read they sift sand, and they did the first night, but once they discovered my trees they never come off the rocks, they love to chill by the trees staring at them probably trying to sing it a song and pick up lines (reminds me of high school
) And of course my 3 turbos cruise the glass and rocks.
I remember your hermits didn't sift either so what ended up working? Did the cerinths do good or head for the rocks too? What do you suggest and how many?

just gave up lol.. my sand still has green algae all over lol.. the hermits will eventually come and pick up the sand and clean it.
Brown algae is ditaoms or w.e its called,, its common in new tanks and itll go away byitself so you dotn have to worry.

Yea I guess with the 2 gallons, plus my 3 chambers in the back included in the 8 gallons, mine really is like half yours in the display area. Mine is the biocube which is about 14 inches square and the chambers take like 3-4" so its about 10x14x14" in display.
8-9 lbs LR and I read to keep it off the glass to scrub algae so that leaves me with stacking it in a pile in the middle. Maybe I need to break some rocks to get more caves. I love that rock in the back (which I believe is a dead coral skeleton?) because it has all those branches, but its like 3 inches thick and takes up almost the entire back wall, and no flat edges to place stuff on cause the branches, but my HCs love to sit up there in between a couple branches and watch over the tank and be lazy instead of clean the sand.
I will think about breaking it up into like 3 pieces or maybe removing some branches and flattening it out so anemones can sit up there.
