keeping saltwater around

I want to mix some saltwater up in my 5 gallon buckets. I want to have 10 gallons aside for my water changes and emergency water change. Could I mix it up, put a lid on it and leave it in the closet? The water always stays around 78 deg in my house. I dont think I really need a powerhead on there, it wont be sitting for longer then 2 weeks. What do you think

test it first, i've had some 5gal sealed containers mold before. green and i've seen black at stores.
