Kent "Nitrate Sponge"

Anyone seen this stuff? Says it removes 20 ppm or more. Treats 55 gallons. Anybody seen/used this stuff? Could it have any negative effects on a reef tank loaded with SPS, softies, and LPS?

He's fine, never nips at anything. He's pretty much full grown too.

My buddy tried them out when his tank got bad. I just laughed as he had to lug water from my house to this after his "magic sponges" did nothing but cost him money.

The stuff sucks, it was of no value whatsoever when I tried it several years ago. The best solution is to load up on the LR, maintain a reasonable bioload, run a skimmer, and do your water changes.

wont have any negative effects though right? Right now my trates are only like 15 but i have a tank full of SPS so i need them to be zero.

Nitrate sponge can leak nitrates back into the water from what I recall. You're better off identifying the source IMO.
