Kent's Deion 200R

I need to stop using tap water. Has anyone used this model by Kent. If so any pros and cons would be helpful. It interests me b/c it claims to be a "Regenerable Ion Exchange Unit". I want to avoid buying expensive membrane replacements. Thanks.

Matt, I'm not going to go into great detail cuz it's Christmas and the family is mad enough about me sitting in front of the computer as it is ... all the DI unit's I've heard of are "rechargable" but ... the process can be kinda' tricky and dangerous. Somewhere on the board here a gentleman named Peron Blane posted a how to message about the DI unit and how he did it that was very good. Might look for that although it wasn't specifically about the Kent unit.

Well if recharging is dangerous I think I'll skip it. I haven't ruled out the other Kent products. I would like to know how long the membranes last before replacement is needed. The cost about $80.00.
