kents phytoplex or Dts

I usually get Dt's but mylfs has been out for a long time. No i bought phytoplex. Whats your opion on it. Is there one better than the other.

DT's is live phytoplankton and more benificial for filter feeders. Phytoplex is dead plankton and although it provides some benifit it is really just expensive algae fertilizer.

DT's when ever possible but I have used the Kent stuff before, its alright but not a true replacement for the DT's.

I use the Phytoplex because of the price difference. Dt's are better I am sure but right now I am just starting off so I will probably swap over when everything starts to grow a little more.

I bought some DT's last night. WOW that stuff stinks!! My tank is about 1 yr and 3 months old. Yours?

It does smell a little funny but if it it stinks very bad that may be a bad sign. Like it says on the bottle "Dead Phytoplankton will have a strong foul odor and should not be used".
