is it possible for a kenya tree to not fully open for a month? ours has been all but closed since we got it...it is getting sort of strong flow and high light...

did you light acclimate it?
what kind of light did it come from/do you have?
maybe it doesnt like its location.
try moving it around.

it was from our lfs so it was under mh and it was brought to our tank and put under mh...what kind of flow do they like? if its getting high flow could this be causing problems?

Mine is under low-medium flow and is thriving. It will shrivel for a few days every month or so for a few days but then its back in action.

what about light? medium to high? it is high in the tank so it is definately high light

I've got mine in a medium flow, medium light area and it does great. It does shrivel up for a day or 2 every now and then but when it reopens it is bigger than ever. I've had it for about 2 months. It was maybe an inch tall when I got it and now its about 4 inches tall.

I just read that they like moderate to high lighting.
