Mmmm...mayo.....what is this artichoke and mayo thing you speak of?
You poach/boil you artichoke whole, and then you slowly pull all the leaves off one by one. on the base of the leaf where it was attached to the head there is a little bit of edible stuff like the heart on it. Then you dip it in a bit of the mayo(sometimes a seasoned mayo if you like) and scrape the edible stuff off with your teeth. It takes a while to get to the middle but when you do there is the heart waiting for you, after you rip off the flower. dont eat the flower. The heart is basically were the stem meets the base of the fruit.

Never tried mayo on artichokes, but melted butter is the bomb with them. Same deal, pull the leaves off then dip in a little melted butter. MMMM, I can feel my arteries hardening just thinking about it. Think I'm gonna have to pick me up one on the way home from work tonight.

i do love me some ranch!!! ranch on pizza is freakin great!!!
Could arguably be one of the most delicous foods on this great earth.
There is a pizza joint that has this pizza with sliced red potato, bacon and cheddar with a garlic butter sauce( instead of red sauce). Now if that isnt delicous enough dip it in ranch and you fall in love.

Yummo!

I think my Nona used to do something like this (without the dip) but stuffing the leaves with (breadcrumbs? I don't know but it was GOOD) boiled in broth of some sort....wow - I'd forgotten all about that, I'll have to ask my mom if she has the recipe, it was awesome
