Killer arrow crab

I bought a arrow crow from saltwaterfish.com about 2 to 3 weeks ago and all of a sudden he has killed two peppermint shrimp, a turbo snail and a brittle star! Do they normally do this? I know I'm feeding the tank enough, do I need to be feeding the killer arrow something special? Or should I just get rid of it. Please advise!!!

Large arrow crabs are known to attack small, slow moving creatures. Are you sure these creatures were not already dying, they are also scavengers and will attack something that smells like death. Theres nothing much you can do except try to see that the arrow is getting enough to eat, or remove it from the system. HTH

I would remove it. I brought one of the home from a diving trip once and put it in my tank. He was fine at first but then when I would feed a coral or anenomie he would pounce on top of it to take the food out of its mouth.

I had one I also brought home from a dive trip and he would get on top of a leather coral and start digging into him with his claws creating a gash.I had to take him out.

Usually nothing good about an arrow crab, they can be very aggressive, and mine killed all my shrimp in my tank, until I finally got rid of it. I posted a similar question and got about 10 responses on how bad arrows are and what they have killed.

i have watched them kill fish in tanks. i gave one to a friend cause he wanted one. killed like 3 fish and them he got rid of it

Guess I am the lucky one, I am on my second arrow crab and the only thing either of them have killed is Fireworms. I have a small peppermint shrimp that co-habitates in the cave opening with the arrow.
