Killer cardinal

A while back (quite a while) I purchased a candy stripe cardinal from SWF

thought it was really cute
It's in my 29G.......says it gets 1-1.5" HAHAHA...it is almost 3....and a fish eater....I bought 2 green gobies for that tank......and just saw it eat one
LUCKILY I was able to catch the other and put it in the 10G
peaceful fish....BAHAHAHA...I don't think so :(

There are actually similar looking cardinal species that DO reach 3", such as A. regulus (not the fish pictured on SWF). Notice that SWF doesn't ID the fish by species, so it's difficult to give you much more than that.
As for it eating other fish...that's pretty much what most fish do. If they can eat something they will do so. They may not be belligerent, but they do have to eat.

LOL....I realize that fish will do that.........I was just very surprised that this "peaceful" fish ate the goby....the green gobies are actually a little bigger then the yellows too
I also feed my fish very well.... :(
I also added a chalk basslet to that tank.....I'M thinking he is TOO BIG to fit in that mean cardinals mouth

I love chalkies, Lois...great fish! Do be careful, as they like to carpet surf.
