Killer cowfish

I was feeding my lion fish feeders yesterday i was droping them in 1 by 1 and before my lion even knew what was going on my cowfish flew to the fish and went to town chewed them up he ate about 3 is this norma??

can a feeder even fit in a cowfish's mouth?
and, im intrigued that you have a cowfish housed with lions....

He was chewing them up tail first. And they get along just fine.
