Killer Wrasse

I have a six line wrasse, and did until today have a carpenter flasher wrasse. Randomly my six line attacked and killed the flasher, even though the flasher was twice his size. Anyone know why a six line would get so aggressive, and what other wrasse I can put in my tank that would be safe with him????

A couple of questions come to my mind ..
1.)how big is your tank?
2.)how many other fishes do you have in your tank?
3.)How long has your 6-line been in your tank?
-the 6-line wrasse although peaceful, can become a terror if the tank is small and the 6-line established his dominance already. I had a 6-line almost kill a mandarin goby once. The 6-line did not go after any other fish, but targeted my mandarin because my mandarin was introduced after the 6-line. You should try to move the 6-line and introduce the new fish, and later reintroduce the 6-line to avoid aggression.

My Tank is a 55 gal, and I have 2 clowns, 2 tangs, the six line, and a tile fish. The six line and the flasher we introduced into the tank at the same time a week ago. He was fine until last night.
