killing a baby whale

Ya, it's better if he keeps getting chewed on by sharks, continues to struggle to breath and slowly starves to death, with the odds of him finding a serrogate so low.....
Did that article mention why he couldn't be raised in captivity though?

i read somewhere else they cant raise it in captivity because it was not wiened from its mother so its still dependant on milk and there is no suplement that they can give it.

What a terrible story. It's a horrible situation, not because anything was done wrong, but because it is so tragic... especially considering the decreasing humpback population. It's really sad.

this was so sad to watch. That poor baby latched on to the boat for days thinking it was mama

But from what all the experts said, even if the baby was brought somewhere it was very weak and health was failing. They said the chances of a female in captivity taking the baby on for nursing was slim to none.
