I was at an awesome LFS yesterday and found this. I've really been wanting to add to my tank rock-wise, but this barnacle cluster will be perfect for my little yellow watchman goby that I plan on picking up this week some time. Also, to place this, I moved a couple of LR rubble pieces and formed a cave in the front of the tank (don't have a pic of that yet. I'm really hoping that my ywg is going to make himself at home in of these...
here is the barnacle cluster that I bought yesterday...straight on and from the left side of the tank...what do you think???

I saw those at my LFS before. They're kinda cool, but I didn't want anything fake in my tank. They'll get covered with coraline algae eventually anyway.... :happyfish

Yeah, I know, that's what I'm counting on. I don't think they're fake, just not living anymore...know what I mean??

Hey fishmamma!!
I love hearing from you!!! I sure hope my little goby is going to love his new home. I got to see him for the first time today...awwwweee, he's SO cute!! Very tiny though, and that worries me a little, but I had all to do to keep from taking him home today, OMG!! I can't wait!!

Hey, have I mentioned to you and fishmamma that I've pretty much decided on a 46gal bow front for my next tank??? Yep, I've seen a number of them, and they are defitnitely doable for me space-wise and so on. Not till April or May though...I want to help my daughter get her 55gal going. She's SO excited!!

I'm looking at picking him up probably on Wednesday or Thursday. By that time he will have been at the LFS about a week and a half, and I can have some salt water heated for the replacement during/after acclimation. I'll definitely post when the little guy is in the building...I fell in love (again)

OH! How cool!! Is this gonna be the seahorse tank???? That would be soo nice!
As for the coral on your new addy, I would think like some GSP, or zoa's...that way they can cover it...that would be kinda neat!

We have some barnacles in our tank too. They used to be like your's I think but they broke when my dad took his tanks down the last time he had them. Our blenny loves them.

I have my eye on a very cool piece of rock with candy cane coral at the LFS that I frequent...hopefully it'll still be there when I go for it.
Seahorse tank??? Mmmmm, not yet. I think that my 37gal may end up being my SH tank...eventually since it's a tall, long down the road though. I have SO much to learn, and don't want to screw something like that up. They are just so awesome!! Still learning and researching.
I love this hobby

46 gallon bow sounds great Lisa. Bows are my favorite tanks, someday I hope to have a 72 or a 90. My own personal pipe dream. :hilarious What are you planning on doing in the 46 gallon for fish, corals, lighting etc........FUn, FUN!! I can't wait for your next project. :jumping:
Candy canes are nice. Great LPS to add to a system since they are pretty low maintenace comparitively speaking.

I am going to hijack for a moment since we are all here. I have some recent aquisitions myslef. Most importantly a new frogspawn and a pair of sexy shrimp (Mimi and Lola) to keep it company. So thrilled to finally have some sexies!! Lisa, do you ever try to spot feed your frogspawn or do you leave it to fend for itself at feeding time?? Just curious.....mine seemed to after the mysis today.

Those barnacles aren't fake. They will probably cover will coraline pretty fast. I think they make a nice addition to live rock for something a little different. Only problem with them is that food and waste can get stuck in them for quite a while sometimes.
