ok, yesterday i noticed my 2 peppermint shrimp were missing. well today, i spotted one on his back not looking so good. i also have a CBS with one whole "leg missing" and my cleaner shrimp who was fine this morning was belly up also, but still allive. also noticed hermit crabs belly up (hope they make it too) so, did a water test just now
amonia .25 (had read that for 8 months i think it might be the test kit)
nitrate 5.0 (normally reads 0)
nitrite 0
calcium 500+
PH 8.0
alk 5.37 -- kh 15.0
SG 1.24ish (i say "ish" cuz i tested it 4 times today and got 4 different results (deep six hydrometer), 1.24 was my last reading a few min ago. other readings were within "normal" range (not to low, not to high)
during the period of time it took me to do the tests, both shrimp that were belly up, flipped over but are moving slow
these readings are basically normal for me except the trates. what did i do different? started a kalk drip, only did it for one day to see what would happen.
also last night i noticed my 6 line swimming kinda "quirky"
so what could be going on? :notsure:
