I can't believed he died!! My clownfish, Kirby died today. While I was cleaning his water, I found him there dead. He was the only one in his tank, I fed him everything I was supposed to, and I cleaned his water every week! What happened??!!??

give us some tank specs and it will be easier for us to help, like tanks size, water test( ph, salinity, temp) how long your tank has been up and so on.

It was a 1-gallon tank. It had been up and running since February 26th, 2003. I fed him the assigned food and I cleaned his water every week

Your parameters are all off for keeping saltwater fish. Ph should be 8.0 to 8.2, specific gravity of saltware water should be around 1.023 - 1.025 and the temp is way too low it should be around 80. Maybe you should by a couple of good books before adding any more fish.

This seems like it may be a joke. The answers seem vague and odd. Also I don't think a clownfish would live more than a day or two with those parameters. She has another post where she states that she is gonna put 2 or 3 clownfish and a mandarin in the one gallon tank.

Agreed, as I posted in her other thread:
"Folks, IMO there is a good chance princesslily234 is a "troll."
Please consider this possibility before spending time answering this or getting worked up.
If you are not a 'fake,' princesslily, I would ask you to spend some time reading before sacrificing another fish like in your other thread. There is a lot to learn, as these animals are not 'rewards' for good grades, but things that can suffer."
I've seen clownfish stress out during a freshwater dip for a couple of minutes. One surviving a few months? Not to mention the pH of 7.0, temp of 65 and weekly water changes. Sigh. I usually expect more from a troll

Everybody who says I am a troll is wrong. Ok, so my tank was all wrong. but that doesn't mean I know nothing about fish. Please be quiet about me. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all

A 1 gallon is a bit small princess, do some research and try again. Get a bigger tank though. Just some constructive critisism.

I'm going to get a 10-gallon tank this summer and I've already bought some books on clownfish and other species. I will also research some on species

Nas,
Its a one gallon tank that she probably won at a fair. She posts no water specs and she claims to change the water every week. Sounds like she dumps it out and fills it with sink water. If you read the other post she has then you will see that she needs to read more about starting an aquarium, and forget about what to put in it yet.

Agreed but I was just trying to confirm my suspicions of whether this was a joke or not and even worth wasting time on. Either way if you are serious about keeping saltwater fish read before continuing.

If you are serious about saltwater, then forget about a 10 gallon tank and start with at least 40 gallons. Even better start with a 75 gallon tank.

GO FOR A BIGGER TANK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was cruel and inhumane to keep ANY swf in such a small tank.
IN FWT's 55gal. is big.
In SWT's 500gal. is big.
If you do anything Saltwater please make sure that the water has salt in it:rolleyes: You can buy an inexpensive tester for salinity and buy the salt mix at a local pet store(instant ocean)
BTW, If you had a perc they r schooling fish if you had a larger fish you are being very blind
Please do not act so cruelly to your fish, they have emotions and feel loneliness too(cough, certain ones feel loneliness).
