Know where I can get refrences on coral diseases?

My xenia and anithelia, both are getting some type of white rot on the stems, like they are rotting away, i want to find out what is going on, but have no idea if there is some sort of treatment for it or not, but don't have a clue where to find out, any ideas?

Aquarium Corals by Eric H. Borneman has a good disease section in it.
Can you post a pic? I can look it up for you.

No pic. I actually ended up taking the rotting stalks out and tossing them so it doesn't spread. Xenia is sometimes a tough coral to keep, but what has me stumped is the fact its been in my tank for over a yr and it has been my lfs only source of xenia to sell to customers due to the fact it doesn't ship well and he can sell 2 nice healthy stalks for 90.00. He is not going to like the fact his source is doing poorly what seems like over night. I do have more in my other tank thank goodness. The pink stalk looked like it was splitting right down the middle, the inside white instead of pink and i thought it was just spreading. But the white part started slothing off hunks of tissue until it all looked like a mass of flakey tissue. I also had a large rock of anathelia (also in the xenia family) that disappeared about a week ago, just vanished,I had several free floaters that attached in other parts of the tank that i was always weeding out, now all is gone, got me stumped. I am guessing something went wrong with water quality, though everything tests good and all other corals including SPS are fine.

i heard that they need small amount of nitrate and ammonia to thrive? one of the reason i get them so i can keep sps soon ..so my nitrate will get close to zero .

There should NEVER be amonia in an established tank, but I would agree on the 'SOME" nitrates..

Thanks, I will check out that web site.
I don't really believe the dirty water theory. I have had both xenia and SPS together in same tank for a yr, no problems. My water is pretty good also, no ammonia, trites and low trates, been the same for a yr also. The problem actually started when i indroduced a silver tip xenia into my tank 2 weeks. It completely slothed away first, then the anethilia, and now xenia. No problems with anethilia and xenia in my other tank so far, there was no silver xenia in that tank.
