anybody on here have one? Im looking at one at my lfs. I have read they are less aggressive than most tangs. The one here is about 2.5 inches. Its a hawaiian.
i have one in my 150g aggressive tank,, hes pretty smooth, doesnt pick on anyone and doesnt get picked on. Hes about 4 inches long in with 4 triggers, 2 GSM, a lunare wrasse and a hawkfish (one of my most aggressive fish)
I have one, he is a great algae eater! He is part of my CUC, the lawnmower blenny can't come close to his ability. He is so sweet he doesn't bother anything at all.
He is a bit of a chameleon, when he hangs out in the rocks he gets darker in body and he hides really well, he was very shy at first, so it takes them about a week to start coming out to swim around.
yeah, mine does eat all the algae off the back wall of my tank,,, works well since the rest of my fish kill actual CUC members and even a lawnmower blennie i tried, lol
I got him. He is in my qt right now. My lfs had him for about 3 weeks. I check by there all the time. I never saw any signs of ICH. That store is actually really good with their fish. I know its a tang so is this guy a ICH magnent like the others? Im thinking 4 weeks and then in the dt he goes.
I just got one too last week. He was shy for a day and a half, then went to work on my hair algea and he picks at the sand. I guess they have teeth that permit them to 'rake' the substrate.
Since my tank is new and only stocked with my older fish/rocks....I did not quarantine mine. He was at the LFS for a couple months and I have never gotten any parasites from them.
Anyways at the beginning of this week I noticed a white dot just above one eye...has not left yet. It might be a small nick in the scales....not sure...if it disappears in a day or so....then I will wait to see if I get more in a couple weeks!!!
He is the biggest fish in my tank and everyone gets along except for the poor yellow belly damsel. He is always getting picked on. I would love to move him to his third home, but doubt if I could catch him again!!!
Anyhow...love the Kole Tang and hopes yours does well.
