Koralia powerheads

I am looking for a few more powerheads for my 125 and was wondering if the Koralia #4's would be a) provide enough flow and b) will the magnet work on a 125 gallon tank?
thanks in advance

I used them on my 265 that had 1" thick glass and im sure the glass on a 125 is thiner so yes the magnets will work. Depending on how many you go with they should work with your 125.

are you using the #4's in your 265?
I already have 2 powerheads that I plan on keeping in there...I am looking to add maybe 2 more for more flow/surface agitation.

i used 4 in my 265 and a closed loop system with a reeflo dart 3600gph pump. I sold that tank about a year ago so now i just use tho #4s for mixing saltwater.

fwiw, I have a 90gal 4' with 2 #4's and it seems to provide alot of flow. I would guess that you could go with 2 in a 125 and then maybe a 2 or a 3 for behind the rocks or in caves

I currently have 2 power sweep (moving head powerheads) that I would really like to put behind my LR to keep flow going back there...I think that it would work well, as they rotate and could cover a larger area that way. I also have a stationary powerhead that will cover the center area of my LR (back of tank). I want the Koralia's to be near my surface going in each direction on the left and right sides of my tank...does that make sense?

I have 2 4s in my 90 facing mostly towards the front glass and I have a 600 gph ( is that the 2 or 3 model?) splitting those 2 heads and it faces the front glass. What that does for me is directs flow towards the surface and hits the other power heads from each side. Really turns up the water. I keep them towards the surface so that they keep it mixed up pretty good. Hope that gives some thoughts. Again that 90 is a 4 foot long.

I recently set up a 120 long with 2 koralia #4 that seem to be providing alot of flow. The magnet works great! I'm glad I went with them.

I have had problems with fish getting caught in my other powerheads and have covered their intakes....has anyone had this problem with Koralias??? If so, is there any way to cover them to prevent this?

don't have strong enough lights for anemones, so I am safe there...I am just worried about any non-strong swimmers (lost a mandarin to a regular powerhead when I first started the hobby...hovered near it and got sucked onto it and couldn't get off).

any fish that gets sucked into a powerhead was not healthy to begin with. even a really small fish would not have any problem escaping the flow of a #4. my shrimp hang out on them all the time and just walk right off.

Yeah I dont think your gonna have a problem with a healthy fish getting sucked to it. The fins are so tight even if he did I think he would be stuck to the side of it. Not good that way either but I guess its better than the chop chop?

I started my 125DT with a pair of 4's, as a temp starter.
Yesterday my Mag 5's came in. So now I got two mag 5's on one end where the heavy concentration of LR is. And to 4's on the opposite side pointing towards the middle.
The extra 3300 GPH turnover that they provide added an extra 26x turnover rate in my DT.
Combined with my 4's and my return line. Im Right around 48x-50x turnover rate in my DT. So I should be good for the indefinite future.
I'm not really a Korella fan, they are bulky and dont provide the best flow; but they most definitely are a bang for the buck poor mans power head , and are relatively reliable for the price.
If I had the cash I would get me some Vortechs. But I cant drop $1,000 the cash for a pair. One day yes, but for now Hydor is the most readily available for us regular folk.

I have 2 Korelia 3's and 1 Korelia 2 and it almost seems like too much flow for a 90 gallon. My anenome tried to get out of the high flow of them and would up playing pinball around my live rock.
I am since down to the Korelia 2 and my return from the sump everything seems very happy. I have one of the korelia 3's on a time so it comes on and off every hour to provide an extra push.
