Koran angel colors

Good morning all.
My first go at salt water tank is a 120 gal. It has been set up for over a year now. Weekly water changes and general maintenance. My question is recently within the last few weeks my Koran has started to lose its color. Nothing has changed with the tank. Food has stayed the same. I have read on here and I hope it's not bad. I have taken pics to my local fish dealer and was told it's just changing color. Not sure if I trust them tho. Please have a look and tell me what you think.

The Koran looks like it has Head and Lateral Line Erosion and the yellow tang looks emaciated. What are you feeding and how often? What are your water readings including nitrates?

Feeding angel and butterfly frozen cubes, silversides soaked in garlic xtreme 2x daily. Only thing in the tank that's off is nitrates. Between 20-30 ppm

What food is in the food? Korans and tangs are omnivores and need a variety diet of meaty as well as plant and algae foods.

This is the bulk of healthy yellow tang. From the pic, your tang seems a lot slimmer.




The Koran pic looks like there is erosion around the eye. Is there?

I don't really see erosion just discoloration. It's face is more orange than anything.

I agree with looking at your pic this one does pretty skinny. It's eating every time. I also noticed a few little black spots near its tail fin and one on its side.

The yellow tang may have some black ich (not to be confused with white ich). However, I don't see the spots in the pic.

I think the Koran has Head and Lateral Line Erosion. Take a look at the link I sent above and start addressing the HLLE using that as a guide.

I would try to greatly improve on the diet of your fish, getting an angel formula frozen mix. Offer some marine algae daily. Also, with meaty foods, soak in zoecon or selcon and offer to the fish daily.

Try doing a 2 gal water change daily.

It's fake. Not saying they haven't, but I've never seen them nip at it.

Your best bet is to try and get the nitrates down (improve on water quality). Angels and tangs tend to be more sensitive to water quality. Following the nutritional advise I gave you as well as the small daily water changes will get you there.

I got the zoecon. I'm also feeding angel butterfly cubes soaked in garlic. Nitrates very low. See what happens.
