L R acclimation

hey it been a while since I added LR to my tank and I completely forgot how to acclimate LR. Im planning on buying the cured LR from this site but I want to be sure of exactly how to do things. Is the acclimation the same as fish and inverts or is it more complicated such as involving an isolation tank
P.S. Ive heard of a special food or such that boosts the LR bacteria and microrganisms

I would just drip it like a fish or invert so that any life on it will acclimate to your tank and not die off.

if it still smells good when you get it just put it in if it smells bad then it has some dieoff and you might want to put it in a seperate container until it smells like the ocean again

There is a great article in the archives by mudplayerx about curing liverock. Even if you buy cured liverock your supposed to cure it again once you get it because there will be some dieoff and you don't want to add that to your already established tank and cause an amonia spike that could possibly kill some inhabitants. Hope that helps, I too purchased liverock online and have to go through this process.

From what I've read this also depends on how much liverock your adding to your tank and if your tank has already cycled or not.

Thnx for the info its greatly appreciated though there were alot of different ideas I guess Ill go with the one about acclimating it like a fish because I know about the die off thing and because of this am planning to buy part of it from a LFS. I think Ill get 25lb of the LR from this site and due a little curing on it since I heard some where that if its away froma tank for more than an hour it has to be cured again. Again thnx for the info as a reward I shall have my legion of haapy faces bow down to you.
