I got them at a LFS. I have only seen that color the one time when I bought them. They are supposed to be very hardy and need moderate flow and CF lights would work but mine seems to like the halides better. It did well when I had compacts only but I had to place it at the highest point in the tank. With the halides, I was able to drop it down some. You don't have to feed it since it gets all it needs from the lights. It does like a nice water flow to keep it's head clean and to help it shed.
And again, thanks all. I like the rock work also and it was constructed unintentionally. I just removed a lot of the rock work I had originally because my tank basically looked like a pile of rocks. While removing them, the cave was formed. My pistol shrimp is worrying me now because I noticed he has expanded his network. I have noticed a lot of sand piled up in various areas which is a classic sign of his work. I think my rocks are secure and aren't lying on the sand but rather the glass. I think I will stress test the rock tonight to make sure it's still stable. Don't need an avalanche!!

Thanks. I run 2x250 halides, 2x96 CF and 2 x96 actinics. My ammonia, nitrites and nitrates have been 0 for awhile. I attribute it to the 13% water changes I due weekly (actually have a fresh batch of water cycling now for tomorrows change). I was having trouble with parameters many months ago and they were resolved with the water changes. I feed heavily so the water changes for me are a must since I don't run a fuge which would probably help lessen the time of water changes.
