lace rock??

would it be ok to use lace rock as a foundation to a reef/fish tank?? help i have so much of this lace rock and donno what to do with it :)

Yes, its safe. I used about 25-30 lbs. of lace as base rock in my 45g. I added about 25 lbs of good L/R on top of it. The lace is now totally covered with purple coraline algae. :D Just make sure you wash and scrub the lace rock before you add it to your tank.

Sure, I have a nice piece in my 54 gallon tank. The reason I got it was not cost, but I really liked the shape (like a cave) of the lace rock. I wouldn't suggest getting too much of it though. Stick with mainly live rock. But lace is completely reef safe. Rinse it REALLY well. Lace rock is usually very dirty.

Where can you get lace rock? Is it only available at LFSs or garden centers?
I have a FO system which could benefit from a few nice pieces of rock but I'm not crazy at $7+ a lb for a non reef system.
