I know you said getting a Stylophora up top, but it will survive maybe a week under your lighting. Tank looks good though. I would stay away from the scarlet leg hermits too, they can get quite big as the blue leg stay nice and small.
Thanks!! But yah, i'v already known that becuase half my hermits have gone into bigger shells, in just one months time!! Cant get much bigger can they?

There was a guy selling a red hermit crab the size of a softball. I think thats about the time they dont become reef-safe

Not to burst your bubble but sounds like you got aiptasia with your LR. Rock anemones can are pests. Might want to think about removing them from your tank before they become a problem

Yep, I lost my clenner shrimp because he molted wronge
Other than that, 2 of 10 hermits died
But the fish are happy now, as well as the royal gramma! My snails do an excelent job too!! And my erchin.........well I never see him anymore because he went in the bck compartment of chamber 1, loves it back their!!!

I personally think cleaner shrimp are to temperamental, they are neat but I love the Peppermint shrimp now :) for one they killed all of my astasia or w/e its called I forget, and I like they way they look over the cleaner.

How much longer do you think the female clown will pick on the male clown? Its been going on for a week now, they sleep together(lay on side at night) and during day they chase each other, and the male shakes, I have even seen the female do this as well. I have even seen the male swim up and down while the female just rubs up against it! So is this normal for them to get along one second, and the next be chasing one another? Thanks!

my first coral was a mushroom... thats what I would reccomend.. great coverage and fills up a decent area for a low cost and very easy to keep alive

idk, I asked my lfs and described it and they said it molted wronge, they said they were hard to take care of due to this. It indeed did look inside out!
But yah since then nothing has died!!!
My current conditions are:
Temp: steady 80 degrees
Salinity: 1.025
Ph: 8.2
Ammonia: 0.25, I will be doing a water change to get it down, plus less feeding!
Nitrite: 0
Nitate: 0, coloring lokks more in the middle, so hard to tell
And my alk is still high, how do I lower it? Its at 2.9-3.6!!!
So to the coral, what can I get?
Thanks Landen!!

Well, went to the lfs and got 3 mushrooms, and i've had a button polyp frag for a month or so and its getting bigger!!! So I decided to get these, i'll post pics tonight or tommarow!!! For corals, I may get like 4 more this year, and when I get more money after Christmas, I will put in a 200 or 300 dollar coral order, sometime in April I imagine!! And lastly, my tanks been up for what, three or four months now, so shouldnt corline alge start growing? Very little has.....

I like that idea!!!! But yah, i'm only 15 so its hard to get money because like 90% has to go in the bank to pay for collage, i'm 3,000 short, so in 2 years I will have enough, thats for a public, local, yet really good school!! As for private, well i'd be half way their with no scollor ships, i'm working hard towards that goal!!! But yah, in 2 or 3 years I should be able to spend lots, and hey, even start up a doorm aquarium!!!!
