Large Hermit Crab Question

I just bought a red leg hermit crab about the size of a baseball. He was VERY active in the tank I got him from and now that he's in my tank he doesnt come out of his shell. Any Ideas? I had this happen with another large hermit about a month ago and he eventually died. Thanks in advance

My paramaters are normal. Salinity-1.023 ph-8.28 kh-9 everything else undetectable. temp is 76.5 degree F. I dripped him for about an hour. I've got a harliquin bass, a purple tang, and a lawnmower blenny in with him, nothing picks on him he just seems to be REALLY finiky. He'll come out for a min and eat and then pop back in his shell. He's been like this for about 3 days now.

Try feeding him some squid or shrimp every couple days. Plus they are mostly nocturnal anyway so he may be out mostly at night.
