large tank without calcium reactor

hello everyone its been a while! anyway,i finally give up on sps after i loss more than 25 large colony when i move more than 8 months ago . i decide to focus on soft coral, lps, mushroom, zoa and 2 large clams . i have 300 gallon display and 150 gallon sump . i stop my calcium reactor today and i was thinking of selling my euroreef calcium reactor. will the system survive with just kalkwasser water tap off.i also don't change my water frequently ( maybe 10% every 3- 4 months if that! ) almost everything in my tank is thriving except for xenias and gsp i don't know why?

I dont think so... you will have to add something or do water changes... like 100 gallons evey three or four months...
the way i can tell its time for a water changes is when my xenias doesnt look good so i would have to say its time for a water change...
I would just run your CR and do water changes as you were... thats what i do... good luck

i think i would keep it thank you ,it will be less maintenance
but i need to raise my magnesium level soon. my calcium is 500+ and my alk 11 but i don't see no coralline build up like i used and i start adding lugol's solution on my tap off hoping for my xenia colony to come's back. again thank you

You can definatly run Kalk on your tank and keep your levels up. . The big question is how much evaporation you have on a daily basis. Dennis210 uses kald drip on his 210 heavy sps and it is working great. Incredible growth and color. A softy and lps tank would have even less draw and would be even easier. Happy Reefing.

i have automatic tap off which hold 60 gallons but i don't changes my water often.i guess i have to stick with it. thank you

i think i did loss some of my passion for this hobby right after all of my sps died.i don't know if i will get that back now that i loss so much. maybe if i win the lottery.............. anyone know what happen to murph?
